Duties
- Support classroom teachers in implementing lesson plans aligned with curriculum standards, including literacy, math, and social skills development
- Assist with daily classroom activities, including setting up materials, organizing learning stations, and managing classroom routines
- Provide individualized attention to students with diverse needs, including those with disabilities or autism, ensuring they receive appropriate support and encouragement
- Help maintain a safe and orderly classroom environment through effective behavior management and classroom management techniques
- Engage children in educational activities that promote childhood development, early literacy skills, numeracy, and social interaction
- Supervise children during indoor and outdoor playtime, ensuring safety and fostering positive peer interactions
- Communicate regularly with teachers, parents, and specialists to support each child's progress and address any behavioral or developmental concerns
Skills
- Strong understanding of special education principles and childhood development best practices
- Experience with lesson planning and curriculum development tailored for young learners
- Proficiency in literacy education, math instruction, and preschool teaching methodologies
- Excellent communication skills to effectively collaborate with teachers, parents, and students
- Classroom management expertise to create a structured yet flexible learning environment
- Knowledge of working with children with disabilities or autism to provide inclusive support
- Technical proficiency with educational tools and classroom technology to enhance learning experiences
- Background in daycare or preschool settings, including Montessori or private school environments is highly desirable
- Ability to work effectively with individuals across different age groups within early childhood education settings
