Job Overview:
We are seeking a reliable and customer-focused Optometric Assistant / Optician to join our growing eye care team. The ideal candidate will assist patients with pre-testing, eyewear selection, and provide excellent customer service to ensure an exceptional patient experience.
Responsibilities:
- Perform patient work-up, including preliminary testing, medical history, chief complaint, visual acuities, and diagnostic testing
- Assist patients in selecting frames that complement their appearance, lifestyle, and prescription needs
- Present and explain lens options and upgrades, including coatings and treatments
- Take accurate measurements for eyewear fabrication (PD, seg heights, frame adjustments)
- Perform eyewear adjustments, repairs, and fittings
- Maintain product knowledge of current frame lines and lens technology
- Support daily clinic flow and maintain a clean, organized optical area
Qualifications:
- Previous experience in an optometric or optical setting preferred (will train the right candidate)
- Excellent communication and customer service skills
- Detail-oriented, dependable, and a team player
- Ability to multitask in a fast-paced environment
