St. John Lutheran Church & School is hiring a Part-Time Child Care Teacher for our Child Care & Early Childhood Programs. This is a year-round, part-time position of approximately 20 hours per week.
We are looking for someone who enjoys working with children, is dependable and patient, and can help provide a safe, nurturing, and developmentally appropriate environment. The Child Care Teacher works with the Child Care Director, Assistant Child Care Director, lead teachers, and other child care staff to support the daily care and development of children.

What You’ll Do:
- Care for and supervise children in a safe and supportive classroom environment.
- Help with daily routines such as meals, rest time, transitions, play, and cleanup.
- Assist with age-appropriate activities and learning experiences.
- Keep the classroom clean, organized, and prepared for children.
- Follow health, safety, and licensing expectations.
- Help maintain required staff-to-child ratios.
- Observe children and report concerns related to behavior, development, or well-being.
- Work as part of a team with child care staff and program leadership.
- Communicate with families in a professional and positive way as directed.
- Maintain confidentiality regarding children and families.
What We’re Looking For:
- Must be at least 18 years old.
- High school diploma or equivalent required.
- Must meet Wisconsin child care licensing requirements for staff.
- Must be able to support the mission, values, and ministry of St. John Lutheran Church & School.
- Previous childcare, babysitting, nannying, caregiving, or early childhood experience is helpful, but not required.
- Coursework or experience in Early Childhood Education is preferred.
- Must successfully pass a background check.
- Must complete required training and continuing education.

- Able to sit, stand, walk, bend, kneel, and move throughout classrooms.
