1–5 Years of Experience; Full-Time With Benefits; Primarily On-Site; Bilingual Preferred
Job Overview
We are seeking a motivated and compassionate Family Law Attorney with one to five years of legal experience to join our team. This is a client-focused, drafting-heavy position centered on case management, settlement, and mediation.
This is not a litigation-heavy role. The attorney will spend most of their time drafting legal documents, communicating with clients, managing deadlines and case progress, preparing matters for mediation, and helping cases move toward resolution. Court appearances will generally involve brief, routine, or uncontested hearings rather than complex trials.
We are willing to train the right candidate. Direct family law experience is preferred but not required for an attorney who demonstrates strong writing skills, sound judgment, organization, professionalism, and a genuine interest in family law.
This is a primarily on-site position, and candidates who are available to work from the office are preferred. Bilingual candidates are strongly encouraged to apply.
Responsibilities
- Manage family law matters from intake through resolution with support and guidance from senior attorneys
- Serve as a primary point of contact for clients and provide regular, clear case updates
- Draft and review petitions, motions, pleadings, parenting plans, settlement agreements, proposed orders, correspondence, and other family law documents
- Gather and organize financial records, custody-related information, and other documents needed for each matter
- Track deadlines, court dates, filings, client tasks, and case developments
- Prepare clients and case materials for mediation and settlement discussions
- Participate in mediations and assist with negotiating practical resolutions
- Attend brief, routine, and uncontested court hearings as needed
- Conduct focused legal research regarding family law issues and court procedures
- Maintain accurate and organized electronic case files
- Coordinate with attorneys, paralegals, and administrative staff to keep cases moving efficiently
- Provide professional and compassionate guidance to clients during difficult family transitions
Qualifications
- Juris Doctor degree from an accredited law school
- Active and good-standing admission to the Florida Bar
- One to five years of legal experience
- Family law experience is preferred but not required
- Newly licensed and early-career attorneys with strong writing and client-service skills are encouraged to apply
- Strong legal drafting, research, editing, and analytical skills
- Excellent written and verbal communication skills
- Ability to communicate with clients patiently, professionally, and compassionately
- Strong organization, time-management, and follow-through
- Ability to manage multiple matters and deadlines while maintaining attention to detail
- Interest in mediation, settlement, and resolution-focused family law practice
- Comfortable handling limited, routine, or uncontested court appearances
- Willingness to learn, accept feedback, and take increasing responsibility
- Bilingual proficiency is strongly preferred
- Availability to work primarily on-site is preferred
- Familiarity with legal case-management software, LexisNexis, or Westlaw is helpful but not required
- Extensive trial experience is not required
