We are seeking a dependable and hardworking Freight Sorter to join our warehouse and logistics team. In this role, you will be responsible for sorting, organizing, and preparing freight for shipment or distribution. The ideal candidate is able to work efficiently in a fast-paced environment, follow safety procedures, and accurately route freight to the correct locations.
Responsibilities
- Sort incoming and outgoing freight according to destination, route, or shipment information
- Load, unload, move, and organize packages and freight within the facility
- Verify shipping labels and identify damaged or incorrectly routed items
- Place freight in designated staging, loading, or storage areas
- Assist with preparing shipments for loading and distribution
- Maintain an organized and safe work area
- Follow company safety procedures and proper material-handling practices
- Work with warehouse and shipping team members to meet daily productivity goals
- Report damaged freight, missing items, or shipment discrepancies to a supervisor
- Perform other warehouse duties as assigned
Qualifications
- Previous warehouse, freight, shipping, or logistics experience is preferred but not required
- Ability to lift and move packages and freight throughout the shift
- Ability to stand, walk, bend, and perform repetitive physical tasks for extended periods
- Strong attention to detail and ability to follow instructions
- Dependable attendance and ability to work as part of a team
- Comfortable working in a fast-paced warehouse environment
- Ability to work scheduled shifts, including occasional overtime when required
Pay: $24.10 - $29.00 per hour
