We are looking for a reliable and caring Site Assistant to provide support for a non-profit initiative based in Leander, TX. This position is ideal for individuals who are passionate about community service, excel in collaborative settings, and find fulfillment in contributing to a meaningful local cause.
Your daily responsibilities will include managing kitchen tasks, preparing and delivering meals, coordinating with volunteers, and handling office administration to ensure that local seniors receive their meals in a timely and secure manner.
Core Responsibilities
Meal Preparation & Distribution

Support the packaging and distribution of meals for the Meals on Wheels program.

Contribute to daily kitchen tasks, including the preparation and serving of food.

Help maintain a safe working environment for the entire team by adhering to sanitation and food safety protocols.

Organize and label food items and kitchen inventory to ensure proper storage.

Foster positive connections with program recipients by delivering high-quality service.
Kitchen Operations

Utilize commercial-grade kitchen appliances, such as ovens and dishwashing units.

Clean and sanitize all cooking tools, utensils, and dishware.

Ensure that dining spaces, workstations, and storage units remain clean and hygienic.

Assist in tracking inventory and managing kitchen records and menu displays.
Administrative & Team Support

Handle incoming calls, manage data entry, and assist with general office tasks.

Support the coordination of volunteers and daily site operations.

Provide assistance to the Site Director and Lead Cook to ensure smooth operations.

Uphold professional standards and confidentiality when interacting with staff, volunteers, and participants.
Requirements-
Possession of a High School Diploma or GED.

A current Texas driver's license and active auto insurance.

A valid Food Handler Certification or the willingness to acquire one promptly.

The capacity to secure CPR and First Aid certifications.

Fundamental computer proficiency, specifically with Microsoft Office software.

Strong verbal communication and interpersonal service abilities.

Effective organizational skills to help manage multiple tasks in a busy setting.

Prior background in food service, caregiving, non-profit work, or customer service is preferred but not mandatory.
Physical Requirements-
The physical capacity to stand, walk, bend, and lift items weighing up to 45 pounds during your shift.

Comfort working within a professional kitchen setting.

The ability to drive a vehicle safely for scheduled meal delivery routes.

Flexibility to accommodate occasional shifts during evenings, weekends, or holidays.
