ABOUT THE ROLE:
Assists in the delivery of health care and patient care management by performing radiological examinations and other clinical support functions.
FUNCTIONS OF THE POSITION:

Ensures operation and radiology equipment by completing preventative maintenance requirement, trouble-shooting malfunctions, maintaining equipment, inventories, calling for repairs and evaluating new equipment and techniques.

Maintains radiology supplies by checking stock to determine inventory level, anticipating needed supplies, placing and expediting orders for supplies and verifying receipt of supplies.

Prepares patients for radiologic procedure by positioning patient, adjusting immobilization devices, moving equipment into specific position and adjusting equipment controls to set exposure factors.

Maintains production and quality of x-ray films by following established standards and procedures, developing and observing film results and making necessary adjustments.

Welcomes patients and visitors by greeting them in person or on the telephone, answering or referring inquiries.

Comforts patients by anticipating patients’ anxieties; answering patient questions and maintaining the reception area.

Ensures availability of treatment information by filing and retrieving patient records.
SKILLS REQUIRED FOR SUCCESS:

High School Diploma or equivalent required; Prior healthcare experience strongly preferred; Medical Assistant experience preferred.

Completion of education in radiological technology approved by the American Registry of Radiological Technologists and currently licensed in the State of Vermont.

Experience preferred; will consider new graduate.

Prior experience as a Medical Assistant preferred.
