Duties
- Safely operate dump trucks equipped with manual transmissions, ensuring secure loading and unloading of materials.
- Load and unload freight using various truck types including roll-off trucks, flatbeds, refrigerated trailers, tankers, and tractor-trailers.
- Drive route-specific deliveries across multiple sites, adhering to schedules and traffic regulations.
- Conduct routine inspections of trucks before and after shifts to identify maintenance needs or safety issues.
- Maintain accurate logs of deliveries, routes traveled, and vehicle condition reports.
- Collaborate with site personnel to coordinate load placements and ensure timely deliveries.
- Follow all safety protocols related to freight handling, load securing, and equipment operation.
Experience
- Proven experience operating dump trucks or similar heavy-duty vehicles such as roll-off trucks or tractor-trailers.
- Valid commercial driver’s license (CDL) with endorsements for manual transmission operation.
- Familiarity with different trailer types including refrigerated trailers, flatbeds, tankers, and roll-offs.
- Prior delivery driver experience involving route driving and load & unload procedures.
- Ability to operate auxiliary equipment like forklifts for loading or unloading freight when necessary.
- Knowledge of safety standards related to freight transportation and vehicle maintenance.
