Overview
Join our dynamic construction team as a Skilled Craft Helper and play a vital role in supporting skilled tradespeople on industrial construction projects. As a Skilled Craft Helper, you will assist with various tasks that require mechanical aptitude, adherence to safety standards, and the ability to interpret technical drawings. Duties
- Assist skilled tradespeople with tasks such as material handling, equipment setup, and site preparation in accordance with construction plans and technical drawings
- Support erosion control measures to protect the environment and ensure project compliance with safety regulations
- Operate power tools and manual handling equipment safely, following OSHA safety standards and workplace safety protocols
- Read and interpret blueprints, technical drawings, and construction plans to facilitate accurate task execution
- Perform heavy lifting and climbing activities required for installation or maintenance tasks while adhering to respiratory protection guidelines when necessary
- Support equipment repair efforts by identifying issues and assisting with routine maintenance under supervision
- Implement safety regulations at all times, including proper use of personal protective equipment (PPE) such as respiratory protection, and follow OSHA standards for industrial construction sites
Experience
- Prior experience in industrial construction or related fields is required; training will be provided for motivated candidates
- Familiarity with blueprint reading, interpreting technical drawings, and understanding construction plans is advantageous
- Knowledge of erosion control techniques and environmental safety practices is a plus
- Demonstrated understanding of workplace safety regulations, including OSHA standards for heavy lifting, climbing, respiratory protection, and general site safety
- Ability to perform manual handling tasks safely over extended periods in physically demanding environments
- Mechanical knowledge or experience with equipment repair enhances your ability to support project needs effectively
