Duties
- Prepare and assemble meals according to established recipes, menus, and dietary guidelines
- Operate kitchen equipment safely and efficiently, including knives, slicers, ovens, and mixers
- Assist in menu planning to meet nutritional standards and customer preferences
- Maintain cleanliness of work areas, utensils, and equipment in compliance with food safety regulations
- Handle food with care to ensure proper storage, portioning, and presentation
- Collaborate with kitchen staff and dietary team to coordinate meal preparation and service
- Follow safety standards during food production to prevent contamination or accidents
Experience
- Prior dietary department experience or dietary aide experience preferred
- Proven food service or restaurant experience demonstrating excellent food handling skills
- Knowledge of food safety management practices and safety standards in production environments
- Skilled in food preparation techniques including slicing, chopping, cooking, and plating
- Familiarity with menu planning, recipe adherence, and catering operations is a plus
- Strong communication skills for effective interaction with kitchen staff and team members
- Experience operating kitchen equipment safely and efficiently in a fast-paced setting
