Responsibilities
- Prepare and cook menu items with precision, adhering to recipes and presentation standards
- Operate kitchen equipment safely and efficiently, including grills, ovens, poaching setups, braising pots, and food production machinery
- Maintain strict food safety and sanitizing procedures to ensure a clean and safe kitchen environment
- Assist with menu planning and ingredient preparation to support smooth kitchen operations
- Handle food with care, following proper food handling techniques to prevent contamination
- Support high-volume food production during busy service times while maintaining quality standards
- Collaborate with team members to ensure timely meal preparation and exceptional service delivery
Requirements
- Proven experience as a Cook in a restaurant, catering service, or healthcare setting with food service responsibilities
- Strong knowledge of food safety management practices and sanitizing procedures
- Skilled in various cooking techniques including grilling, braising, poaching, and meal preparation
- Excellent knife skills and familiarity with operating diverse kitchen equipment
- Experience with food industry standards related to food handling, recipe adherence, and high-volume production
- Background in dietary department or dietary aide experience is a plus
- Ability to work efficiently under pressure in fast-paced environments while maintaining attention to detail
- Culinary experience that includes fine dining or restaurant settings is highly desirable
