Your Day to Day
- Install, replace and repair plumbing and heating systems at existing and new residential homes as well as at multi-family properties.
- Utilize your extensive knowledge and skills to identify and troubleshoot plumbing and heating issues identified through inspection and/or through service calls.
- Identify and communicate potential hazards and inform the customer of options to rectify the situation.
- Meet with inspectors and obtain necessary permits.
- Maintain detailed records of work completed and time spent on projects as well as expenses incurred for parts and materials.
- Make recommendations to customers when additional services and systems can improve the functionality, efficiency and/or safety of their plumbing and heating systems.
- Maintain a documented inventory of stock in your assigned work truck on a daily basis.
- Drive to designated stores and supply vendors to purchase products, supplies and tools needed for the project or repair.
- Collaborate with the owner on detailed plans and specifications on proposed projects or service and repair issues.
- Follow company, state and federal safety laws and regulations.
Those Must Haves
- Licensure as a Journeyman Plumber in MA, required
- 5 years’ experience in residential plumbing and heating
- Experience in residential service requests and renovations
- Strong customer service skills
- Excellent work ethic including dependability and punctuality is a must
- Excellent problem-solving ability
- Thorough knowledge of safety procedures and legal regulations and guidelines
- Valid Driver’s License and clean driving record required
- Ability to pass a criminal background screening required
- OSHA 10 or 30 Training
- General computer/phone app skills needed to document time, projects and service details
- Physical Demands: Ability to lift up to 50 lbs., bending, reaching, climbing ladders, pulling crouching and other related physical activities. Ability to see color to discern color-coded wiring. Ability to work in various environmental conditions including extreme heat and extreme cold temperatures.
Some Important Stuff
- Work Schedule: Monday – Friday, 8:00 am. – 4:00 pm, Overtime is available if desired
- Pay: $40-$45 per hour plus commission pay on additional services sold to customer
- On-Call pay is $200 plus time and one-half your hourly rate. On-call is expected every 3rd or 4th week
- Work truck and gas is provided as well as Propress and other large tools
- Paid training is available, 6 paid holidays and 1 week paid vacation
- MA Journeyman license is required
