Job Description:
This is a part-time position, working 20 hours a week on the project in office and from the field, reporting directly to the Project Director. The candidate for this position will have, at minimum, a Bachelor’s Degree and experience working in public health and/or community organizing. The skillsets we are looking for include: experience and understanding of working with diverse and underrepresented populations, canvassing, knowledge and experience with social media platforms, proficiency working with Microsoft Office and Google Suite programs, and CANVA. Some travel is required to complete program activities. Fluency in Spanish is a plus.
Job Duties:
Create and/or adapt tobacco control related educational materials and social media assets.
Regularly schedule posts and communication to social media platforms
Create and/or adapt health related content and program related information to upload to website and social media platforms
Represent project while attending and/or conducting community engagement events or meetings
Collect survey data through canvassing and interacting with community members
Observe community preferences around tobacco use
Conduct trainings to diverse sectors and populations
Provide support in policy adoption work by contacting key stakeholders via phone, email, or other methods of communication
Help connect individuals looking to quit tobacco products to state-wide and local resources
Partake in strategic planning pertaining to program activities and overall program
Provide support in planning community events, community outreach opportunities, workshops, and trainings
Provide technical assistance on issues related to policy education, adoption, implementation and sustainability to community partners, decision makers, those who will be tasked with enforcement, etc.
Coordinate and maintain constant communication with community partners, organizational partners, and coalition members, to complete policy and media activities
Coordinate with Community Engagement Coordinator and Program Intern to create and disseminate program newsletter
Other duties as assigned by Project Director
Requirements:
Valid CA driver's license.
Bachelor's degree
Reliable transportation
Pay: $23.50 per hour
