Automotive Sales Manager

The Sales Manager is responsible for the dealership achieving outstanding sales and guest satisfaction results by ensuring that all team members create an exceptional experience during every guest visit at the dealership.
We offer flexible hours and a 5-day work week. Our sales department is open Monday - Friday 8-6 and Saturday 8-3. Outstanding pay plan with very generous incentives and multiple bonus opportunities. Opportunity for advancement and continuous training.
JOB RESPONSIBILITIES:
- Set clear sales targets for the team and provide guidance to achieve them. Maintains an accurate daily log that reflects all sales activities to ensure progress towards targets.
- Helps sales team members close deals when necessary.
- Craft and execute dynamic strategies to surpass guest expectations and sales targets; including but not limited to developing, implementing and monitoring a follow-up system for vehicle purchasers.
- Monitor team performance; track sales, analyze market trends, and identify areas for improvement. Implement action plans to elevate performance and maintain teamwork through all steps of the sales process.
- Directs and schedules the activities of all department employees, ensuring proper staffing at all times.
- Address individual team member performance when areas of improvement are identified.
- Collaborate with finance and inventory management to ensure guest satisfaction scores are met. Recommends to the General Manager the new-car inventory to be carried by color, model and equipment, based on a variety of customer and market analyses.
- Assists the used-vehicle department with trade appraisals as needed.
- Train and provide the sales team on sales strategies, how to address challenges and guest service on a continuous basis. Ensure that all team members understand and follow dealership policies and procedures.
- Regular team meetings to ensure open communication flow and team motivation. Provide effective communication throughout all departments.
- Market analysis; understanding industry trends, competitor strategies, and guest preferences to make informed decisions. Develop and implement impactful merchandising and advertising campaigns.
- Handle escalated guest complaints and build rapport with guests.
- Attends manager meetings as requested and at all times maintains a professional appearance.
- Other tasks as assigned
Education and/or Work Experience Requirements:
Previous leadership experience in creating a facility or business group positive sales environment and providing excellent guest service is required.; Automotive dealership, management and/or sales, is required. Must be a strong communicator that has proven excellent attention to detail and follow up skills. This position will require evening and weekend availability. Understanding of federal, state and local regulations that affect the new and used vehicle and finance departments.
