Redlands Community College is seeking motivated, reliable candidates to apply for the Locksmith and General Maintenance Worker position within our Physical Plant team. This full‑time role offers an annual salary of $40,500–$42,500 along with an excellent benefits package. The position includes performing skilled locksmith duties—installing, maintaining, repairing, and managing campus locking systems—while also supporting general building and grounds maintenance across all college properties. Prior locksmith experience is not required; the College will provide training to the right candidate with strong mechanical aptitude and a solid background in maintenance work.
Responsibilities include but not limited to:
- Maintain accurate records of key assignments, rekeys, key locations, and all changes to the campus keying system
- Cut, stamp, and duplicate keys for buildings, offices, vehicles, file cabinets, desks, and equipment
- Install, repair, and maintain commercial door hardware, locksets, door closers, panic hardware, and security devices
- Re-pin lock cylinders, repair exit devices, and modify lock combinations
- Perform basic plumbing repairs and maintenance on water, drainage, and sprinkler systems
- Complete routine electrical repairs, including replacing lighting fixtures, switches, outlets, fans, and ballasts
- Repair and finish drywall, apply texture, and perform interior and exterior painting
- Assist with HVAC system maintenance and repairs
Qualifications:
- Experience working in commercial or institutional maintenance environments
- Strong troubleshooting and problem-solving abilities
- Working knowledge of HVAC, electrical, plumbing, and mechanical systems
- Ability to work independently and effectively manage changing priorities
- Valid driver’s license
