About the case:You will provide individualized support to an adult client in his 30s diagnosed with autism. Services will be delivered exclusively to this client and will focus on personal care, structured daily routines, and community engagement. Due to the presence of self-injurious behaviors (e.g., biting, hitting self or objects), all services are delivered collaboratively in a two-person staff team during waking hours.
Key Responsibilities
- Adhere to the client’s established daily schedule and implement specific protocols for all activities.
- Provide transportation to and from community-based outings, such as walks, hikes, recreational activities, fitness classes, and therapy appointments.
- Accurately collect behavioral data and complete detailed shift notes and documentation.
- Perform light housekeeping tasks related to the client’s environment.
- Utilize effective communication strategies and de-escalation techniques to support the client.
- Assist with activities of daily living, including bathing, grooming, dressing, and oral hygiene.
Qualifications and Requirement
- Availability to work weekends is required.
- Ability to perform physically demanding tasks for extended periods (minimum of 8 hours).
- Willingness to travel to the client’s residence and provide services within the home and surrounding community.
- Reliable transportation and a valid driver’s license.
- Strong interpersonal and communication skills.
- Ability to work effectively as part of a team.
- Demonstrated patience, empathy, and a commitment to supporting individuals with special needs.
- High school diploma or equivalent preferred.
- Registered Behavior Technician (RBT) certification preferred.
Schedule
- Weekday: Day and evening shifts available later on after being trained.
- Weekend: Day and evening shifts available at this time
Pay: $25.00 - $29.00 per hour
