Position Summary
The ReStore Associate plays an essential role in providing excellent customer service while supporting daily retail operations. This position assists with receiving donations, merchandising, operating the cash register, loading and unloading merchandise, maintaining a clean and organized sales floor, and creating a welcoming environment for customers, donors, volunteers, and coworkers.
Success in this position requires someone who is dependable, adaptable, physically active, and willing to help wherever needed.
Essential Duties and Responsibilities
- Provide friendly, courteous customer service to every customer and donor.
- Receive, inspect, and process donated merchandise.
- Assist customers with purchases, loading, and general questions.
- Operate the point-of-sale system accurately.
- Stock shelves and merchandise the sales floor in an attractive, organized manner.
- Keep the store, warehouse, and donation areas clean and safe.
- Assist with moving furniture, appliances, cabinets, building materials, and other donated items.
- Help maintain accurate inventory and pricing.
- Work safely while following Habitat policies and procedures.
- Support volunteers by providing guidance and assistance as needed.
- Represent Habitat for Humanity professionally in every interaction.
- Assist with donation pickups, special events, or community outreach activities when assigned.
- Perform other duties as needed to support the ReStore and Habitat's mission.

Qualifications
- High school diploma or equivalent preferred.
- Retail, warehouse, or customer service experience is helpful but not required.
- Basic computer and cash handling skills preferred.
- Ability to communicate effectively with customers, volunteers, and staff.
- Valid driver's license.
Physical Requirements
This is an active position that requires regular physical activity.
Employees should be able to:
- Lift and carry up to 50 pounds independently and heavier items with assistance.
- Stand and walk for extended periods.
- Bend, stoop, reach, push, pull, and climb ladders safely.
- Work indoors and outdoors in varying temperatures.
- Safely move furniture, appliances, and building materials.
