Summary:
The Department Manager, Tech. Support, Information Technology (IT), Infrastructure and Shared Services, will coordinate a team working to support infrastructure and shared services within the Information and Technology (IT) Division. The Department Manager, under the direction of the Manager, IT, Infrastructure and Shared Services, will organize and coordinate the performance of the Infrastructure and Shared Services team.

Responsibilities:
Coordinates the deployment of infrastructure to support the organization’s mission and objectives.
- Coordinates all user support services teams.
- Coordinates efforts of the computer administration and operations teams.
• Serves as a liaison between the infrastructure and shared services function and district departments. • Identifies, analyzes, and rolls-out cost-saving measures, while concurrently enhancing service delivery.
- Establishes measurement and monitoring systems to determine IT costs and value.
- Reviews policies and procedures in order to make recommendations to improve upon and standardize the processes.
- Inspects and analyzes operations within the area of assignment to take action to continuously improve procedures, services, and support to schools and work locations.
- Conducts training of employees in the procedures and techniques required in the department. Assists staff by providing technical guidance and direction.
- Establishes cooperative relationships with district departments, employees, and suppliers, effectively communicating and interpreting policies and procedures as necessary.
- Identifies and resolves departmental issues, with reference to higher authority as may be required for corrective action.
- Assists in the preparation and issuance of various internal monthly and annual reports that accurately represent the department’s activities.
- Represents the department at meetings with other school district departments, suppliers, and other public agencies, pertaining to the Division.
- Manages the assigned department, including oversight of respective programs, policies, and procedures.
- Supervises subordinate staff in their performance of duties. Ensures through observation, training, and evaluation that department teams apply contract provisions in a consistent and defensible manner.
- Directs the gathering of and analyzes data relating to personnel management in areas such as turnover, succession planning, absenteeism, and other areas relating to a quality work force.
- Inspects and analyzes operations within the area of assignment to improve procedures, services, and support to schools and work locations.
- Develops written and online procedures related to assigned scope of work.
- Reviews policies and procedures continuously, to recommend, improve upon, and standardize the processes.
- Conducts training of employees in the procedures and techniques required in the department. Assists staff by providing technical guidance and direction.
- Represents the department in requests for staff development, conducting standardized and special needs training as requested by other divisions and departments.
- Establishes cooperative relationships with district departments, employees, suppliers, and other relevant stakeholders, effectively communicating and interpreting policies and procedures as necessary.
- Identifies and resolves departmental issues, with reference to higher authority as may be required for corrective action.
- Assists in preparation and issuance of various internal monthly and annual reports that accurately represent the department activities.
- Represents the department at meetings with other school district departments, suppliers, and other public agencies, pertaining to the division.
- Performs any other duties as assigned.

QUALIFICATIONS:
The requirements listed below are representative of the knowledge, skill, and/or ability required to perform this job successfully.
Education: A master’s degree. Degree or formal training in information technology preferred.
Experience: Three (3) years of increasingly responsible experience in information technology related field, with three (3) years of related management or supervisory experience preferred. Experience in public school administration, public school district administration, or other large diverse organizations preferred. Verified information technology experience may be substituted for the master's education requirement on a basis of two (2) years of experience for each year of the educational requirement.
Certificates/Licenses/Registrations: Certifications in related technical field preferred.
