Job Overview
We are seeking a passionate and energetic Preschool Teacher to inspire and nurture young learners in a dynamic early childhood education environment. Duties
- Develop and implement age-appropriate curricula that promote literacy, math, physical activity, and social skills aligned with early childhood education standards.
- Create a nurturing classroom environment that encourages curiosity, independence, and positive behavior management.
- Conduct child development assessments to tailor instruction and support individual learning needs, including special education and early intervention strategies.
- Communicate regularly with parents or guardians to share progress, address concerns, and foster collaborative relationships.
- Ensure compliance with mandated reporting laws and maintain accurate documentation of child welfare and incident reports.
- Incorporate Play-base principles and/or other educational philosophies to enhance learning experiences where applicable.
- Maintain classroom organization, manage daily routines efficiently, and oversee toddler care or daycare activities as needed.
Qualifications
- Must be at least 18 years old
- Completion of OCC-approved Safe Sleep Training
- Completion of at least 2 hours of Oregon-specific Child Abuse and Neglect Training
- Current Pediatric First Aid & CPR Certification with hands-on training
- Current Oregon Food Handler Certification (ORS 624.570)
- Willingness to complete at least 15 hours of annual childcare-related training, including a minimum of 8 hours in child development or early learning
- Reliable, professional, and positive attitude
- Proven experience working with children in preschool or daycare settings, demonstrating strong classroom management skills.
- Knowledge of child development instruction, behavior management techniques, and early intervention methods.
- Knowledge of curriculum development for young children.
- Excellent communication skills to effectively engage with children, parents, colleagues, and community partners.
- Experience teaching physical education or tutoring young learners is advantageous.
