The Team Leader is responsible for the group of children that has been assigned to him/her, and any staff who have been hired to assist him/her.Essential Job Functions: Maintain a positive, respectful environment for children, staff, and parentsSupervise and evaluate any staff assigned to him/her, including delegating responsibilitiesAttend staff meetings as scheduledKeep attendance sheets updated throughout the morning/afternoonAssume responsibilities of Director/Site Coordinator in his/her absenceBe responsible for decisions regarding changes in schedule due to weather, space availability and staff placementAdhere to the schedule set forth by the Director and/or Site Coordinator Plan and implement age appropriate activities that meet the needs and interests of the childrenMaintain open lines of communication with school personnel, including: school administrators, teachers, and custodiansMaintain open lines of communication with parents/guardians, including daily feedback Work under general supervision of the Director/Site CoordinatorAdhere to all program policies and procedures as outlined in the staff handbookProvide children with coping strategies for behavioral issues and conflict resolutionSupervise play activities by: Enforcing safety rulesIntervening when a child is likely to injure him/herself or another childEnsuring proper usage of facilities and equipmentEnforcing a bully free environmentAdminister quick and correct first aid procedures in a caring and nurturing mannerBe knowledgeable about specific allergies/conditions of children in your group and having proper materials readily available in case of reactionKeep first aid kit fully stocked and readily availableMake all staff aware of your whereabouts and the whereabouts of your groupAssist in the preparation and closing down of the environmentKeep the environment clean and organized for the enjoyment and safety of the childrenBe responsible for oneself regarding reliability, promptness of arrival, and finding coverage when necessaryComplete curriculum plans and meet program deadlinesCommunicate with Director/Site Coordinator about issues including, but not limited to: AccidentsIncidentsStaff IssuesSafety IssuesFamily IssuesAssume additional duties as neededAuthority: Reports to SACC DirectorCompensation: FLSA Non-Exempt (Hourly)Work Year: 10 Month PositionPreferred Qualifications: Experience working in a public schoolExperience working with Elementary age studentsSalary Range: $24.73 - $26.00/hour Depending on experience
