American Traveler is seeking a Registered Respiratory Therapist (RRT) for a night shift position at a Level II Trauma Center, with required experience in adult critical care, ER, and community hospital settings.

Short-term acute care hospital setting at a Level II Trauma Center with 431 staffed beds
-
Adult respiratory therapy unit with float requirements to the ER and Adult ICU Stepdown units
-
Experience with airway management, medication administration, ABGs, O2 therapy, suction, pulmonary toileting, BiPAP, CPAP, and nebulizers
-
Provides aerosol, bronchial hygiene, and lung inflation therapies, as well as arterial blood gas draw and analysis, and CPAP/BiPAP implementation and management

Night shift: 3x12-hour shifts, 19:00–07:30
-
Every other weekend required, plus every other holiday
-
Mandatory on-call required: 3 shifts per 6-week period

Block scheduling is not available

Charting via Epic
-
Wine-colored scrubs required
-
Current BLS and ACLS certifications required (ACLS may be pending at start with a 90-day window to obtain)

CRTT certification required

RRT credential preferred

Virginia (VA) state license required if applicable — proof of application accepted at submission alongside another state license (national license not accepted)

Minimum experience required in adult critical care, ER, and community hospital settings

NICU, ED, and adult ICU experience preferred, though experience in all areas is not required

Level II Trauma Center experience preferred

2 professional references from a supervisor within the past 2 years

Full 7-year work history with all gaps explained

Attendance at monthly department meetings is expected when scheduled; if not working, candidates must review meeting minutes and send written acknowledgment to management
