Westchester Dental Arts is seeking an experienced, patient-focused Endodontist to join our established dental practice approximately two days per month.
We will schedule endodontic consultations and root canal patients in advance to help create a productive, well-organized clinical day. This opportunity is ideal for an endodontist seeking a flexible, recurring part-time schedule with an established patient base, modern diagnostic technology, a dedicated dental assistant and strong administrative support.
There may be an opportunity to add additional clinical days as patient demand grows.
Equipment and Practice Support
Westchester Dental Arts will provide:
- CBCT scanner
- Digital intraoral radiography
- Electronic apex locator
- Endodontic motor
- Rotary and reciprocating file systems
- Routine endodontic instruments, materials and supplies
- Fully equipped dental operatory
- Dedicated dental assistant
- Patient scheduling and appointment confirmation
- Insurance verification, billing and collection support
- Sterilization and infection-control support
The selected endodontist will be expected to provide a dental operating microscope and any specialized equipment or preferred materials not routinely stocked by the practice. Equipment and supply requirements will be reviewed and agreed upon before the first clinical day.
Responsibilities
- Diagnose pulpal and periapical conditions
- Perform nonsurgical root canal treatment, including molar endodontics
- Perform endodontic retreatment when clinically appropriate
- Evaluate cracked teeth, dental trauma and endodontic emergencies
- Provide endodontic consultations and second opinions
- Review digital radiographs and CBCT imaging when indicated
- Explain diagnoses, treatment options, risks and prognosis to patients
- Obtain appropriate informed consent before treatment
- Complete accurate clinical notes on the date of service
- Coordinate restorative treatment and patient handoffs with our general dentists
- Provide postoperative instructions and appropriate follow-up care
- Assist with the management of postoperative concerns and treatment complications
- Maintain all applicable clinical, safety and infection-control standards
Endodontic surgery, including apicoectomy, is not required for this position. Surgical procedures may be added only if separately agreed upon based on the provider’s experience, preferences and the practice’s capabilities.
Qualifications
- DDS or DMD degree from an accredited dental school
- Completion of an accredited endodontic residency program
- Active and unrestricted California dental license
- Current professional liability insurance
- Current CPR/BLS certification
- DEA registration and applicable prescribing credentials
- Strong diagnostic, molar endodontic and retreatment skills
- Experience using CBCT, digital radiography, apex locators and rotary or reciprocating systems
- Excellent communication and patient-management skills
- Ability to work collaboratively with general dentists and support staff
- Ability to satisfy applicable insurance credentialing requirements
- Ability to provide and transport a dental operating microscope
Board certification or board eligibility through the American Board of Endodontics is preferred but not required.
Compensation
- Expected compensation of $1,500–$3,500 per clinical day
- Percentage-based compensation may be available
- Final compensation will be based on experience, anticipated production and the agreed scope of services
- A guaranteed daily minimum may be offered during the initial schedule-building period
- Final compensation terms will be documented in a written agreement
