Duties
- Operate tractor-trailers and other commercial vehicles, including refrigerated trailers, flatbeds, tankers, and dump trucks, following all FMCSA (Federal Motor Carrier Safety Administration) and DOT (Department of Transportation) regulations.
- Plan routes using GPS navigation systems to ensure efficient delivery schedules on over-the-road (OTR) routes and local routes.
- Load and unload freight safely using manual handling techniques or equipment such as forklifts, ensuring proper cargo securing for hazardous materials or dangerous goods when applicable.
- Transport various types of cargo including freight, hazardous materials, automobile transportation, or specialty loads like roll-off trucks or tanker shipments.
- Maintain accurate logs of driving hours, delivery records, and inspection reports in compliance with FMCSA regulations.
- Conduct pre-trip and post-trip inspections on trucks and trailers to identify maintenance needs or safety issues before departure.
- Communicate effectively with dispatchers and clients regarding delivery schedules, delays, or issues encountered during transit.
Skills
- Proven experience operating commercial trucks with manual transmission and familiarity with tractor-trailer configurations.
- Strong knowledge of logistics cargo handling, truck loading/unloading procedures, and route driving best practices.
- Ability to navigate using GPS systems accurately while adhering to traffic laws and safety standards.
- Knowledge of hazardous materials regulations (Hazmat) for transporting dangerous goods safely and legally.
- Skilled in manual handling techniques for loading/unloading freight efficiently and safely.
- Familiarity with FMCSA (Federal Motor Carrier Safety Administration) regulations, DOT (Department of Transportation) rules, and hazardous materials regulations to ensure compliance at all times.
- Experience with specialized vehicles such as flatbed trucks, tanker trucks, dump trucks, or roll-off trucks is a plus.
- Excellent driving record with a focus on safety and responsibility in commercial driving environments.
- Ability to handle stressful situations calmly while maintaining professionalism during deliveries or route adjustments.

Pay: $800.00 - $900.00 per week
