Job Overview
We are seeking a dynamic and detail-oriented Estimator, Multifamily Construction, to join our team and lead the cost estimation process for large-scale multifamily housing projects. In this role, you will be responsible for preparing accurate project budgets, analyzing construction drawings, and developing comprehensive bids that align with project specifications and client expectations. Your expertise will drive the financial success of our projects by ensuring precise cost management and effective pricing strategies. Duties
- Review and interpret construction drawings, technical specifications, and contract documents to develop detailed estimates.
- Utilize estimating software such as HeavyBid and Bluebeam to prepare accurate cost proposals and bid packages.
- Analyze material requirements from blueprints and technical drawings to determine quantities and costs.
- Manage project budgets by estimating costs for labor, materials, equipment, and subcontractor services.
- Negotiate with suppliers and subcontractors to secure competitive pricing while maintaining quality standards.
- Conduct site visits to gather on-the-ground insights that influence cost estimates and project planning.
- Monitor project costs throughout the construction process to ensure adherence to budgets and implement cost control measures as needed.
- Collaborate with project management teams to develop realistic schedules, scope of work, and contractual agreements.
- Review construction contracts to ensure scope accuracy and compliance with estimated costs.
- Lead efforts in estimating material requirements from blueprints, reviewing construction drawings for potential cost-saving opportunities.
Skills
- Proficiency in Bluebeam, HeavyBid, Xactimate, and other estimating tools essential for accurate bid preparation.
- Strong negotiation skills to secure favorable pricing from vendors and subcontractors.
- Extensive experience managing projects as a construction estimator within multifamily or commercial construction environments.
- Deep understanding of construction drawing review, interpretation of technical drawings, and estimating material quantities.
- Expertise in cost management, cost control strategies, and estimating construction project budgets effectively.
- Solid background in construction estimating techniques including pricing strategies and material requirement analysis from blueprints.
- Construction site experience coupled with knowledge of construction management practices ensures realistic estimations aligned with on-the-ground realities.
- Familiarity with contracts, project management principles, and the overall lifecycle of multifamily development projects.

Pay: $85,000.00 - $100,000.00 per year
