Summary
The Seafood Attendant in the Poke Section plays a key role in delivering fresh, high-quality experience for every customer. This position requires knowledge of seafood products, quality standards, market trends, and customer preference. This role is responsible for the proper preparation, packaging, pricing, and visual merchandising of Poke products to maximize appeal and drive sales, while maintaining company standards for quality and food safety. This role also involves direct customer interaction - guiding and assisting customers at the Poke buffet line with a friendly, knowledgeable, and service-first attitude. The Seafood Attendant is expected to represent the department with professionalism, ensuring every customer leaves satisfied with their experience.
Job Responsibilities and Duties include but are not limited to
- Prepare fresh Poke and ingredients daily, which may include but is not limited to, marinating proteins, portioning toppings, and maintain proper food handling and safety standards throughout the preparation process.
- Package, price, and merchandise Poke products in a visually appealing manner to attract customers and drive sales.
- Set up, maintain, and restock the Poke buffet line, chill display, and frozen flat case throughout the day, ensuring all items are fresh, properly labeled, and presented to company standards.
- Provide exceptional customer service while assisting customers at the Poke buffet line and with inquiries or special orders.
- Monitor product quality and freshness, rotating and replenishing items as needed to minimize waste and ensure food safety compliance.
- Maintain clean, organized, and sanitary work environment at all times, including prep areas, display cases, and buffet line.
- Stay informed on seafood products, market trends, and customer preferences to continuously improve the Poke offering.
- Collaborate with department supervisors and managers to manage inventory, place orders, and minimize shrink.
- Uphold all company policies, food safety regulations, and customer service standards in every aspect of the role.
- Other duties as instructed or assigned by management.

Education and/or Experience
A high school diploma or equivalent preferred; previous experience in seafood merchandising or related preferred; or any equivalent combination of formal training and/or experience which provided the necessary knowledge, skills and abilities thereof.
Language Skills
Ability to read, analyze, and interpret general business data and effectively respond to the data. Ability to write routine reports and correspondence. Ability to effectively present information and respond to questions from vendors, customers, employees, or others involved or associated in the warehouse section function.
Mathematical Skills
Ability to work with mathematical concepts relevant to the role such as addition, subtraction, multiplication, and division. General knowledge of basic accounting a plus.
Reasoning Ability
Ability to define problems, collect data, establish facts, and draw valid conclusions.
Certificates, Licenses, Registrations
A valid health certificate or ability to obtain a certification is required for this position.

Ability to interpret and comply with variety of instructions.
Ability to work in a fast-paced environment and multitask effectively.
Knowledge and ability to maintain Health code standards.

Working Conditions
Work is conducted in a kitchen environment which may include, but is not limited to, varying temperatures, noise, and exposure to water and seafood odors. Proper personal protective equipment (PPE) will be provided and is mandatory in designated areas and job tasks. Adherence to safety guidelines and protocols is mandatory. Employees are expected to report any unsafe conditions or incidents promptly.
