Job Summary
Join our dynamic dental team as a Cross Trained Front Office and Dental Assistant! This energetic role combines the essential responsibilities of managing front desk operations with proficient chairside assisting, creating a seamless patient experience from check-in to treatment. You will be the friendly face welcoming patients, handling medical and dental documentation, and supporting clinical procedures with enthusiasm and precision. Duties
- Greet patients warmly, verify insurance information, and schedule appointments efficiently using EMR systems such as Dentrix, Eaglesoft or SoftDent
- Manage patient check-in and check-out processes while maintaining HIPAA compliance to protect patient confidentiality.
- Prepare treatment rooms, sterilize instruments following infection control protocols, and assist during dental procedures including pediatric dentistry, prosthodontics, endodontics, and general dentistry.
- Take vital signs, medical histories, and perform basic medical imaging including X-rays and 3D scans to support accurate diagnoses.
- Support clinical team with four-handed dentistry techniques, ensuring smooth workflow during procedures.
- Maintain accurate medical records and documentation using electronic health records for seamless medical coding and record keeping.
- Handle administrative tasks such as answering phones, managing patient inquiries, and coordinating referrals or follow-up appointments.
Requirements
- Proven experience working in a dental clinic environment with knowledge of dental terminology, anatomy, infection control practices, and aseptic techniques.
- Proficiency in SoftDent is a plus.
- Knowledge of HIPAA regulations to ensure patient privacy and confidentiality at all times.
- Ability to perform X-ray procedures safely while adhering to radiation safety standards; experience with medical imaging is preferred.
- Excellent communication skills to effectively interact with patients of all ages and team members.
- Certification in dental assisting required
