As a Food Service Coordinator, you'll play an important role in providing nutritious, high-quality meals to students while ensuring food safety and regulatory compliance. You'll help coordinate daily kitchen operations, support the food service team, maintain a clean and organized environment, and contribute to a positive dining experience for every student. Responsibilities
- Coordinate daily food service operations and meal production.
- Ensure compliance with USDA, state, and local food service regulations.
- Maintain high standards of food safety, sanitation, and cleanliness.
- Assist with inventory management, ordering, receiving, and storage of food and supplies.
- Support and communicate with food service staff to ensure efficient operations.
- Complete required documentation and maintain accurate records.
- Foster a positive, respectful environment for students, staff, and visitors.
- Perform other duties as assigned.
Qualifications
- High school diploma or equivalent required.
- Previous food service or supervisory experience preferred.
- Strong organizational, communication, and leadership skills.
- Ability to work in a fast-paced environment.
- Ability to lift up to 40 pounds and stand for extended periods.
- Must be able to successfully pass any background screening required to work in a school setting
**Required Training**
Candidates must have completed or be willing to complete the following training requirements:
Within the First Week of Employment
- NSLP Orientation
- Food Safety and Sanitation Training
- HACCP Procedures
- Personal Hygiene and Handwashing
- Allergen Awareness
- Cleaning and Chemical Safety
- Emergency Procedures
- Confidentiality and Student Interaction Expectations
Within 60 Days of Employment
- Florida-approved Food Handler Certificate (if required for the operation)
- Required USDA Professional Standards Training with documentation
