Job Overview:
We are seeking a skilled and compassionate Occupational Therapist to join our team. As an Occupational Therapist, you will work with pediatric patients to help them regain independence and improve their quality of life. This position is based in an out patient pediatric setting.
Duties:
- Evaluate patients' physical, cognitive, and emotional abilities to determine appropriate treatment plans
- Develop individualized treatment plans based on patients' needs and goals
- Provide therapeutic interventions to improve patients' motor skills, coordination, and functional abilities
- Collaborate with team of physical therapists and speech therapists, to ensure comprehensive patient care
- Monitor patients' progress and adjust treatment plans as necessary
- Document patient evaluations, progress notes, and discharge summaries accurately and timely
- Provide education and support to patients' families/caregivers regarding home exercise programs and adaptive equipment
Skills:
- Strong knowledge of medical terminology, anatomy, physiology, and occupational therapy principles
- Proficiency in conducting evaluations and developing treatment plans for a variety of conditions
- Ability to provide patient-centered care with empathy and compassion
- Excellent communication skills to effectively collaborate with interdisciplinary teams
- Knowledge of case management principles for coordinating patient care across different healthcare settings
- Familiarity with occupational health practices and protocols
Qualifications:
-Master's degree or Doctorate degree in Occupational Therapy from an accredited program
- Valid state licensure as an Occupational Therapist
- CPR certification (or willingness to obtain)
