We are seeking a versatile and dynamic Automotive Service Advisor / Service BDC Specialist to join our growing team. In this dual-function role, you will be the face and voice of our service department.
You’ll split your time between directly assisting walk-in service customers on the counter and proactively reaching out to our service guest database to schedule appointments, follow up on past recommendations, and keep our shop running efficiently.
Welcome customers warmly upon arrival and perform initial vehicle walkarounds.
Act as the primary liaison between customers and technicians, translating technical diagnosis into clear, easy-to-understand explanations.
Write detailed service repair orders, provide clear cost/time estimates, and secure customer approvals.
Keep customers informed throughout the day regarding vehicle status via phone, text, and email.
Review completed work orders with customers during pickup and collect payments.
Conduct outbound calls, texts, and emails to existing customers to schedule routine maintenance, recall campaigns, and deferred service work.
Promptly respond to inbound service inquiries via phone, email, and web chat.
Perform post-service follow-up calls to ensure 100% customer satisfaction and address any immediate concerns.
Maintain clean customer records and notes within our dealership management system (DMS/CRM).
Experience: Prior dealership service writing or automotive BDC experience preferred (General Motors / Chevy experience is a big plus, but not required).
Communication: Exceptional verbal and written communication skills with a confident, welcoming phone presence.
Tech-Savvy: Comfortable navigating dealership management systems (DMS), CRM software, and multi-line phone systems.
Customer-Centric: Strong conflict-resolution skills and a passion for helping people.
Detail-Oriented: Ability to multitask, manage time effectively, and maintain organized documentation in a busy environment.
Requirements: Valid driver’s license with an acceptable driving record; ability to pass background checks.
