About the Role
The Lead Host oversees the host stand and acts as the communication hub between the dining room, kitchen, and management. You’ll manage reservations and pacing through TOCK, anticipate potential issues before they arise, and help maximize our capacity without compromising guest experience.

Overview
This role is designed for a team member who excels at guest connection, organization, and front-of-house leadership. The Lead Host Role will be responsible for overseeing the host team, and managing large party communication. This position plays a critical part in the guest experience and the smooth operation of service.
Core Responsibilities
- Serve as the primary leader and point of contact for the host team
- Oversee host scheduling (gradually work into that), coverage, and daily floor coordination
- Lead hiring (gradually work into that), onboarding, and training of all host staff
- Maintain and uphold hosting standards, service flow, and guest experience expectations
- i.e. running sidework, keeping the cocktail area pristine, helping to water tables
- Act as the communication bridge between hosts, management, and the service team
- Troubleshoot guest seating issues, wait times, and special accommodations
- Provide coverage for host call-outs when necessary and ensure the host stand remains fully staffed and supported
- Ensure professionalism, hospitality, and consistency at the host stand at all times
- Take full ownership of large party inquiries and emails, and responding in a timely manner (within 24 hours of the inquiry).
- Coordinate with management when it comes to booking large parties close to when others are already booked.
- Clearly communicate deposit hold pricing, policies, and expectations to guests
- Ensure accurate notes, timing, and execution for all large reservations
- Follow up as needed to confirm details and provide a seamless guest experience
- Support service flow, table touches, and guest recovery
- Assist with staff direction, breaks, and real-time problem solving
- Serve as a calm, professional leadership presence on the floor

Schedule & Pay Structure
- Hourly rate: $26/hour for all shifts, regardless of function. You will be expected to honestly and accurately track your time spent handling emails outside of regular shifts.
- Primary hosting shifts being Thursday, Friday & Saturday nights and Sunday brunches.
Requirements
- Prior host or lead host experience in a full-service restaurant
- Strong organizational and situational awareness
- Calm under pressure, polished, and guest-oriented
- Familiarity with TOCK (preferred but not required)
- Weekend availability required
