American Traveler is hiring a travel RN for an ICU position at a hospital in Georgia, caring for critically ill medical/surgical patients on a night shift schedule with every-other-weekend requirements.

12-bed split ICU unit within a hospital setting, with 6 beds on each of two floors
-
Critically ill medical/surgical patient population including sepsis, cardiac arrest, cardiovascular disease, respiratory failure, alcohol/drug overdose and withdrawal, post-op surgical care, GI bleeding, end-of-life/comfort care, and COVID-19 complications

Higher-acuity patients on the 2nd floor staffed at a 1:2 nurse-to-patient ratio; lower-acuity patients on the 1st floor staffed at a 1:3 ratio with PCT support

Night shift: 3x12-hour shifts, 19:00–07:00

Every other weekend required

No on-call responsibilities

Floating within the facility and scope of practice as needed

8-week contract

Active GA RN license or compact RN license required at time of consideration

Minimum 1 year of ICU experience required

Current copies of all relevant certifications required for consideration

First-time travelers are welcome to apply

Local candidates are accepted

RTO maximum is 7 days; RTO cannot be requested during the first week of the assignment

If one or two major holidays fall within the assignment period, travelers are expected to work all of them with no holiday RTO permitted; if three major holidays fall within the assignment period, travelers are expected to work two, with one holiday RTO request eligible for review

Major holidays include Memorial Day, Independence Day, Labor Day, Thanksgiving/Black Friday (counts as one), Christmas Eve/Christmas Day (counts as one), and New Year's Eve/New Year's Day (counts as one)

No schedule change requests or alternate shift requests are accepted — the listed shift is firm

Travelers must have been away from all facilities within this health system for at least one full year before returning as a traveler

Full compliance with onboarding requirements is necessary to start on time; delays may result in a two-week pushback due to a bi-weekly orientation schedule
