EXAMPLE OF DUTIES
In this position, you will focus on operating highway construction and maintenance equipment while performing important manual labor tasks on a maintenance crew. As a PennDOT CDL Operator, you will perform the following duties:

Equipment Operation: Operate trucks, loaders, and other assigned equipment in support of highway and bridge maintenance

License Maintenance: Maintain required CDL credentials and complete all necessary safety and equipment checks each day

Traffic Control: Perform flagger duties as directed to support safe traffic flow during maintenance work

Manual Labor Tasks: Use hand tools and motorized tools to complete tasks such as clearing culverts, cutting vegetation, and repairing guiderails

Equipment Care: Perform field adjustments, minor repairs, and routine servicing to ensure safe and efficient equipment operation

Safety Awareness: Follow all safety procedures, report hazards, and help maintain a safe work environment for yourself and others

Work Schedule and Additional Information:

Work hours are 8:00 AM to 4:00 PM, Monday - Friday, with a 30-minute lunch. Hours are subject to change based on seasonal needs.

Telework: You will not have the option to telework in this position.

Salary: Selected candidates who are new to employment with the Commonwealth of Pennsylvania will begin employment at the starting annual salary of $44,988 (before taxes).
