Service Advisor – Edwards Chevrolet
Job Summary
We are seeking a professional, customer-focused Service Advisor to join our Chevrolet dealership team. The Service Advisor serves as the main point of contact between customers and the service department, helping deliver an outstanding ownership experience. This role involves greeting customers, identifying vehicle service needs, preparing repair orders, communicating recommendations, and ensuring timely follow-up throughout the repair process.
The ideal candidate has strong communication skills, automotive service knowledge, and a commitment to customer satisfaction.
Responsibilities
- Greet customers promptly and professionally in the service drive
- Listen to customer concerns and accurately document vehicle issues
- Write repair orders with clear and detailed information for technicians
- Recommend maintenance and repair services based on vehicle needs
- Provide estimates for labor, parts, and completion times
- Communicate with customers throughout the repair process regarding status updates, approvals, and delays
- Coordinate with technicians and parts department to ensure efficient workflow
- Review completed work with customers and explain repairs and charges clearly
- Promote factory-recommended maintenance services and dealership service specials
- Handle customer questions and resolve concerns in a courteous, timely manner
- Maintain accurate records in the dealership management system
- Help ensure a positive, high-quality customer experience that supports retention and repeat business
Qualifications
- Previous experience as a Service Advisor, automotive service writer, or in a related customer service role preferred
- Dealership experience preferred; Chevrolet or GM experience is a plus
- Strong understanding of automotive maintenance and repair services
- Excellent communication, interpersonal, and sales skills
- Ability to work in a fast-paced environment and manage multiple customers at once
- Strong organizational and follow-up skills
- Basic computer proficiency and ability to learn dealership software systems
- Valid driver’s license and clean driving record
- High school diploma or equivalent required
Preferred Skills
- Experience with CDK, Reynolds & Reynolds, or other dealership management systems
- Ability to upsell recommended maintenance ethically and effectively
- Strong problem-solving and conflict-resolution abilities
- Knowledge of warranty processes is a plus

Pay: $35,000.00 - $150,000.00 per year
