Time - 12:00 PM – 6:00 PM
We are searching for a committed, proactive mixologist who would enjoy working in an exciting, family-owned, casual dining environment. Our restaurant, Table 87, offers coal oven pizza, as well as a wonderful menu of Italian dishes including pastas, seafood and more. We recently expanded our operation to a full cocktail bar in an entirely new space located at 475 3rd Avenue.. This is a position that will allow you to showcase your artistic abilities behind the bar.
We are looking for a team-player, and one that will be willing to learn, grow, while simultaneously bringing their expertise to the business.
In order to succeed in this role, you should be observant and have the ability to think critically and efficiently. You should be a skilled communicator with excellent problem-solving, observation, and interpersonal skills. We are searching for a mixologist that is friendly, organized, has a good memory and can communicate efficiently and effectively with a diverse group of customers. You must be energetic, confident, have a strong knowledge of alcoholic beverages and practice good time management skills. You must be able to work quickly, in fast-paced environments and methodically.
The individual will also work directly with customers by mixing and serving drink orders. Their responsibilities include verifying age requirements, knowing alcohol pairing and tastes, knowing how to make traditional and classy drinks, processing payments, managing inventory and cleaning bar supplies. They also handle food orders directly from customers or the wait staff and inform customers of any specials. They ensure food and beverage compliance, restock bar inventory, decide menu items and manage the overall bar operations.
Job Responsibilities:
- Mix traditional and creative cocktails
- Ensure proper pouring & mixing of drinks
- Maintains all cocktail ingredient preparation
- Maintains inventory
- Must be able to keep proper sanitation as per restaurant standards
- Verify identification and age requirements of customers
- Develop a complete working knowledge of all products served in the bar
- Ensure that all details of service are performed by the bartenders to expected standards and that every guest receives the highest quality of service
- Prepare garnishes, and cocktail ingredients (syrups, and fruits)
- Ability to follow recipes
- Monitor bar opening and closing duties and completed daily to standard by bartenders
- Work in partnership with the Restaurant General Manager
- Complete all bartender duties when necessary
- Process payment from customers
- Clean glasses and bar utensils
- Make suggestions based on customer tastes and preferences
- Record and balance cash receipts and prepare cash deposits
- Open and maintain tabs throughout their shift
- Build a rapport with regular customers to create a positive atmosphere
- Ensures the bar is well-stocked and clean.
- Tracks customer behavior and sales.
- Maintains drink recipe documentation.
- Oversees planning for special events.
- Trains staff
- Uses point-of-sale tracking technology and bar and restaurant management platforms.
- Working with diverse personalities both on the staff and patrons.
- Planning and taking part in promotional events.
- Maintaining a fun, safe atmosphere for patrons
Requirements:
- High school diploma.
- ATAP, and NY Food Handlers Certificate
- Excellent computer, problem-solving, and customer service skills.
- Exceptional communication and interpersonal skills.
- Ability to diffuse tense situations and resolve conflicts.
- Willingness to work during peak hours, including nights, weekends, and holidays.
- Decisiveness.
- Ability to walk, stand, and occasionally carry heavy items in a fast-paced environment.
