Overview
We are seeking a motivated and detail-oriented Welder/Fabricator to join our dynamic manufacturing team. In this role, you will be responsible for fabricating, welding, and assembling metal components with precision and adherence to safety standards. Your expertise will contribute to the creation of high-quality metal structures and parts, supporting various construction and manufacturing projects. Duties
- Read and interpret mechanical blueprints, schematics, and technical drawings to determine fabrication specifications.
- Perform welding using various techniques including MIG (Metal Inert Gas), TIG (Tungsten Inert Gas), FCAW (Flux-Cored Arc Welding), and SMAW (Shielded Metal Arc Welding) in accordance with AWS (American Welding Society) standards.
- Fabricate metal components from sheet metal, pipe, and other materials utilizing shop math, measuring instruments such as calipers and micrometers, and power tools.
- Operate fabrication equipment including press brake machines, plasma cutters, and press brakes for precise shaping of metal materials.
- Use rigging, pipe threading, soldering, and assembly techniques to complete complex fabrication projects on construction sites or in shop environments.
- Maintain strict adherence to safety protocols while handling heavy equipment such as forklifts and rigging gear.
- Inspect completed work for quality assurance using measuring instruments and ensure compliance with ASME codes & standards.
Qualifications
- Proven experience working on construction sites or in fabrication shops with a strong understanding of metal fabrication processes.
- Skilled in welding techniques including MIG, TIG, FCAW, SMAW, and gas metal arc welding with knowledge of AWS standards.
- Ability to read mechanical blueprints, schematics, technical drawings, and interpret mechanical blueprints accurately.
- Proficiency with measuring instruments such as calipers, micrometers, and shop math for precise fabrication measurements.
- Familiarity with construction experience including ductwork, pipe threading, assembly, and rigging procedures.
- Knowledge of safety protocols related to welding operations, power tools usage, forklift operation, and general manufacturing safety standards.
- Mechanical knowledge combined with experience in sheet metal fabrication, plasma cutting, machining, soldering, and working with various metal materials.
- Ability to operate hand tools and power tools efficiently while maintaining high safety standards.
- Strong mechanical blueprint interpretation skills aligned with ASME codes & standards for quality assurance.
