American Traveler is hiring an experienced RN for a Labor & Delivery position requiring 2+ years of L&D experience and AWHONN certifications with a TX or compact RN license.

Work in the Labor & Delivery unit, including Antepartum, High Risk Antepartum, LDRP, and Mother/Baby areas
-
Facility performs 100-200 births per month

Patient ratios: Labor 1:2, Antepartum 1:3, Mother/Baby 1:3
-
Day shift schedule, 3x12-hour shifts (6:00 AM - 6:00 PM)

Epic charting system used
-
Active TX or compact RN license required in hand at time of consideration

Minimum 2 years of Labor & Delivery experience required

Certifications required: ACLS, BLS, NRP, AWHONN Beginner, AWHONN Intermediate, and AWHONN Advanced

Previous travel nursing experience required

Epic charting experience required
-
Experience with high-risk antepartum, vaginal delivery, C-section circulating/scrubbing, fetal monitoring, and postpartum care

Skilled in IV therapy, blood product administration, and medication management including Pitocin, Magnesium Sulfate, and antihypertensives

Previous charge nurse experience preferred

Teaching hospital and Trauma Level I experience preferred

Responsibilities include labor management, assisting with high-risk and vaginal deliveries, C-section support, and neonatal care in the delivery room

Provides antepartum, postpartum, and newborn care including lactation support, discharge teaching, and newborn assessments
-
Utilizes fetal monitoring equipment including external and internal fetal monitors and IUPC placement

First-time travelers are not accepted for this position

Candidates residing within 50 miles of the facility are not accepted

Candidates residing in Henderson, Anderson, Cherokee, Rusk, Panola, Smith, Gregg, Van Zandt, Wood, Upshur, Camp, Hopkins, Franklin, Titus, or Morris counties are not eligible

Former staff must wait 1 year before returning as a traveler

No travel pairs or groups accepted

All requested time off must be submitted at time of consideration; no more than 3 days of RTO will be auto-approved and no RTO is permitted during the first week of orientation

Onboarding requires completion of core items/labs within 48 hours of contract signing
