Process Engineering Manager | Plastics Manufacturing
Most process engineering leadership roles inherit a mature system.
This one does not.
We're looking for a Process Engineering Manager to build the framework, accountability, and technical standards that will shape the future of a large-scale plastics manufacturing operation undergoing significant expansion and modernization.
WHY THIS ROLE EXISTS
The business is investing heavily in new equipment, new tooling, process capability, and commercialization efforts. What’s missing is the process engineering structure needed to scale those investments consistently across multiple facilities.
This leader will create the systems, standards, and team accountability that drive sustainable manufacturing performance.
WHAT YOU’LL OWN
- Build and lead a multi-site process engineering organization
- Develop company-wide process documentation and validation systems
- Establish engineering KPIs and accountability structures
- Drive commercialization of new equipment, tooling, and products
- Lead process optimization and cost-reduction initiatives
- Improve process monitoring and manufacturing consistency
- Coach and develop a growing team of process engineers
- Partner with operations to improve quality, productivity, and reliability
WHAT STRONGCANDIDATES LOOKS LIKE
- Manufacturing-floor engineering experience
- Leadership experience in plastics manufacturing
- Strong understanding of polymers and process control
- Experience implementing systems, standards, and organizational change
- Proven success developing engineering teams
- Commercialization and process-validation experience
- Multi-site manufacturing support experience
PREFERRED EXPERIENCE:
•Thermoforming experience
- Extrusion or injection molding leadership experience
- Strong continuous-improvement background on a manufacturing floor
WHAT’S IN IT FOR YOU
Target compensation: $140,000 - $180,000+ depending on experience.
Competitive benefits package.
Additional relocation assistance, sign-on support, and creative compensation solutions available for exceptional candidates.
Most importantly, you'll have the opportunity to build something rather than inherit it.
WHAT THIS ROLE IS NOT
- A hands-on processing technician position
- A maintenance management role
- A corporate engineering role disconnected from operations
- A position for someone unwilling to lead organizational change
If you've successfully built process discipline, documentation, accountability, and engineering systems inside a plastics manufacturing environment, we'd welcome a confidential conversation.
