Responsibilities
- Conduct comprehensive diagnostics on diesel engines, transmissions, hydraulics, air brake systems, electrical systems, and other heavy equipment components using schematics and diagnostic tools.
- Perform routine maintenance, inspections, and repairs on oil and gas equipment.
- Troubleshoot equipment issues efficiently by utilizing mechanical knowledge and electrical diagnostics to identify root causes.
- Repair or replace faulty parts such as brakes, suspensions, alignments, powertrain components, and HVAC systems to restore equipment functionality.
- Utilize hand tools, power tools, welding equipment, soldering techniques, and fabrication skills for assembly and repair tasks.
- Maintain detailed service records, complete work orders accurately, and adhere to OEM (Original Equipment Manufacturer) specifications during repairs.
- Support heavy lifting operations safely when handling large parts or machinery components during maintenance procedures.
Skills
- Proven experience working with heavy equipment servicing environments.
- Strong mechanical knowledge of diesel engines, transmissions, hydraulics, suspension systems, electrical diagnostics, and automotive repair.
- Skilled in reading schematics and technical manuals for machinery maintenance and troubleshooting.
- Hands-on experience with fabrication techniques including welding and soldering; familiar with power tools and hand tools used in heavy equipment repair.
- Ability to diagnose complex electrical systems such as HVAC controls, air brakes, electrical wiring harnesses, and sensors.
- Experience operating heavy equipment like forklifts or tractor-trailers is highly desirable.
- Excellent customer service skills with the ability to communicate technical information clearly to team members.
- Physically capable of performing heavy lifting tasks safely while maintaining high standards of safety compliance.
