Overview of the Position

The U.S. Probation Office for the District of Oregon is accepting applications for a Data Quality Analyst (DQA) to be stationed in the Portland or Eugene divisional office. Remote work may be available if the successful candidate resides more than 50 miles outside the Portland or Eugene duty station. The Data Quality Analyst is responsible for ensuring the accuracy, integrity, and efficiency of the Probation Automated Case Tracking System (PACTS) information database by providing quality assurance of all electronic entries. The DQA recommends appropriate actions, conducts training, tests new releases, and coordinates the implementation of any PACTS-related project. The incumbent also provides operational support and administrative assistance, as required.

Position Description

The representative duties listed below are intended to provide generalized examples of major duties and responsibilities that are performed by the Data Quality Analyst. These representative duties are not intended to reflect all duties performed by this position.

Maintains accuracy and completeness of official case records from opening to final disposition. Checks the accuracy of daily data entries. Maintains user log errors. Reviews entries made to the PACTS, DSS, and other systems as required. Performs automated quality checks on client records. Verifies case openings and closings.
Performs edits and corrective actions to ensure the accuracy of data, files, and records. Tests new events. Generates deadlines and deficiency notices for missing documents. Archives records.
Performs workload analysis. Prepares and generates monthly and quarterly statistical and customized reports for review by management. Submits reports to the Administrative Office as necessary.
Generates, analyzes, and reports quality control information.
Maintains PACTS database information and other systems as required. Authenticates users to gain system access. Reviews content and determines information for archiving and purging, and modifies the database as necessary.
Advises users on proper data entry, modification and retrieval procedures necessary to ensure the integrity of the database. Develops revised procedures for data entry and provides training to new employees on PACTS, as well as providing follow-up training and documentation to end-users on an as-needed basis.
Assists with project process improvement for PACTS and other database initiatives.
Responds to research requests and prepares reports regarding trends in statistical data which may be critical to the Evidence-Based Practices approach. Designs, implements, and performs quality control audit procedures and practices.
Collaborates with members of the management team and recommends appropriate actions on operational issues.
Performs other duties as assigned.
