What You Will Contribute:

Build technology that helps customers manage one of the world’s most valuable resources—water.

As a Software Engineer II, you'll play a key role in developing, enhancing, and supporting software solutions that power Badger Meter’s products and services. You'll work across the software development lifecycle, collaborating with cross-functional teams to solve complex problems, improve customer experiences, and deliver high-quality solutions.

What You'll Do

Design, develop, test, and maintain software applications and features.
Support existing products through troubleshooting, debugging, and continuous improvement initiatives.
Execute product verification and validation testing and help define test plans.
Create and maintain technical documentation, procedures, and specifications.
Implement engineering changes and software enhancements.
Investigate customer-reported issues and develop effective solutions.
Collaborate with engineering, product management, quality, marketing, and technical support teams.
Contribute to project planning, schedules, risk assessment, and technical decision-making.
Participate in code reviews, design reviews, and project teams, with opportunities to lead portions of projects.
Travel to customer sites as needed for beta testing and issue investigation (5-10%).

What You'll Bring

Required:

Bachelor's degree in Computer Science, Software Engineering, Computer Engineering, or a related field.
3+ years of software development experience.
Experience with C#, Python, Java, and/or JavaScript.
Strong analytical, problem-solving, and debugging skills.
Ability to manage multiple priorities and work independently in a collaborative environment.

Preferred:

Experience with React.js, SQL Server, AWS, Elasticsearch, GitHub, Jira, HTML/CSS, or Pandas.
Experience working in Agile development environments.
