Full Job Description

JOB OVERVIEW:

Responsible for ensuring positive and friendly guest relations. Conduct individualized massage treatments for guests.

REPORTS TO: Spa Supervisor, Spa Managers/Directors.

SHIFT Must be able to work weekends.

SUPERVISES:

WORK ENVIRONMENT:

Spa and Salon areas.

Job involves working:

under variable temperature conditions (or extreme heat or cold).
under variable noise levels.
outdoors/indoors.
around fumes and/or odor hazards.
around dust and/or mite hazards.

KEY RELATIONSHIPS:

Internal : Staff in Spa, Laundry, Housekeeping and Engineering.

External : Hotel guests/visitors, Spa members, vendors.

ESSENTIAL JOB FUNCTIONS

Maintain complete knowledge of and comply with all departmental policies/service procedures/standards.

Maintain complete knowledge of correct maintenance and use of equipment. Use equipment only as intended.

Anticipate guests’ needs, respond promptly and acknowledge all guests, however busy and whatever time of day.

Maintain positive guest relations at all times.

Resolve guest complaints, ensuring guest satisfaction.

Monitor and maintain cleanliness, sanitation and organization of assigned work areas.

Maintain knowledge of hours of operation, memberships, reservations, fees, treatments, products and merchandise.

Set up and organize workstation with designated supplies, forms and resource materials; report shortages to supervisor.

Be familiar with all hotel/spa packages, promotions, prices and rates.

Perform opening procedures.

Inventory products.

Schedule guest appointments.

Handle no show appointments.

Greet guests.

Verify medical releases from guests with applicable medical conditions.

Conduct appointments according to guest’s comfort and desire. Follow massage sequence.

Follow draping procedures.

Sell merchandise.

Depart guest.

Follow dirty linen procedures.

Handle emergency procedures.

Close station.

Check out with Supervisor.

SECONDARY JOB FUNCTIONS

Assist with other Spa job functions as assigned.

Document maintenance needs on work orders and submit to Manager/Supervisor.

QUALIFICATIONS

Essential:

High school graduate.

Current Massage Certification.

2 years experience.

Fluency in English both verbal and non-verbal.

Provide legible communication and directions.

Compute basic mathematical calculations (add, subtract, multiply and divide numbers).

Ability to:

- perform job functions with attention to detail, speed and accuracy.
- prioritize, organize and follow up.
- be a clear thinker, remaining calm and resolving problems using good judgement.
- follow directions thoroughly.
- understand guest’s service needs.
- work cohesively with co-workers as part of a team.
- work with minimal supervision.

Desirable:

College degree.

CPR certified.

Experience with computers, calculators or word processors.

Experience in Hospitality Industry in similar position.

Previous guest relations training

Fluency in a second language.

PHYSICAL ABILITIES

Essential:

Exert physical effort in transporting supplies and linen.

Endure various physical movements throughout the work areas.

Reach shelves

Remain in stationary position throughout work shift.

Satisfactorily communicate with guests, management and co-workers to their understanding.
