Academic Instructor/Educational Staff -

Looking for availability : M - F, 7:45 am to 3:45 pm

1099 Contract employment (Must be able to work at the same time each day M - F).

Pay Range: $20-$29/hr and depends on years of experience in tutoring and education. (1099 Contractors are paid monthly on the 10th day of the month)

The Morris Center Ocala, Florida (private clinic, 8 transdisciplinary team staff; operating in Florida for 35 years).

The Morris Center Ocala is urgently hiring exceptional Academic Instructors interested in joining a dynamic, caring, and dedicated team that provides cutting-edge treatment services for children and young adults with learning challenges such as dyslexia, difficulty spelling, or retaining information.

The methods used in The Morris Center are based on the latest scientific research regarding neural plasticity (efficient, long-lasting learning). Our methodology is evidence-based and peer-reviewed. Our programs address reading and spelling, comprehension, writing, and math.

The demand for our clinic services has exploded and The Morris Center is excited to add more Academic Instructors to our team to meet that demand.

Primary responsibilities of Academic Instructors include:

Instruct students in a 1:1 or small group in-person setting using pre-designed NOW! Programs material which include reading remediation training and phonological awareness training (paid training provided)
Learn to complete behavior and attention sheets for clients after each session
Update progress flowcharts daily
Attend daily team planning meetings to create lesson plans 3:00pm to 3:45pm
Support school-aged students during session breaks each hour (e.g., engage in outdoor play)

Applicants must effectively complete in-house instructor and tech training and demonstrate an ability to interact with and manage behaviors with school-aged students.
