Job Overview
We are seeking a highly organized and friendly Patient Service Specialist – Exit Desk to join our team. The ideal candidate will be the first and last point of contact for our patients, providing exceptional customer service while ensuring a seamless check-out experience. This role requires a proactive individual who can multitask effectively in a fast-paced environment while managing a variety of administrative and patient service responsibilities, including scheduling follow-up appointments, collecting payments for services and materials, and ensuring patients leave with a clear understanding of their next steps.

Duties

May greet and welcome visitors in a professional manner, ensuring a positive first impression.
Answer phone calls and direct inquiries to the appropriate department or personnel.
Scheduling appointments on doctor schedules.
Perform insurance verification.
Collecting copayments for appointments.
Collecting payments for materials such as contact lens or eye glasses orders.
Insurance verifications as needed
Scanning documents as needed
Perform data entry tasks, ensuring accuracy and confidentiality of information.
Maintain filing systems, both electronic and paper-based, for easy retrieval of documents.
Faxing incoming and outgoing faxing, faxing referrals and forms made by doctors.
Checking out patients including scheduling follow up visits with doctors and special testing appointments.
Provide customer support by addressing client questions and concerns promptly.
Utilize Outlook teams applications for various administrative tasks.

Skills

Proficient in computer literacy.
Strong organizational skills with the ability to prioritize tasks effectively.
Excellent communication skills, both verbal and written, with a focus on customer service.
Ability to proofread documents meticulously to ensure high-quality output.
Effective team collaboration, positive attitude towards teamwork.

Monday: Closed
Tuesday: 8:00 AM – 6:00 PM
Wednesday: 8:00 AM – 5:00 PM
Thursday: 8:00 AM – 5:00 PM
Friday: 8:00 AM – 4:00 PM
Saturday: 8:00 AM – 12:00 PM (alternate)
Sunday: Closed

Pay: $17.50 - $18.00 per hour

Work Location: In person
