Full Job Description

Schneider Wallace Cottrell Konecky LLP (SWCK) is a national Plaintiff’s law firm handling civil, complex litigation on behalf of individuals, classes and corporate clients. SWCK is currently seeking a full-time Staff Attorney to join the Intake Team.

This role is for a dedicated project attorney focused on prelitigation research and drafting. Must be a Spanish speaker! Ideal for seasoned attorneys in search of a balanced, non-litigating position.

The Intake Department is responsible for receiving all new leads that contact the Firm. The Intake Staff Attorney will complete:

company research regarding locations, size and worth;
prior and pending research related to the potential defendant;
research laws and statutes of limitations by state;
prepare detailed internal memos covering the potential client's claims, anticipated potential defenses, damage calculations based on the state, size of the class and claims asserted - for review by Partners and Associates;
draft initial complaints for review by Associates;
draft PAGA letters for filing with the LWDA

QUALIFICATIONS:

prior experience in civil litigation, employment law, or with class actions is preferred
has an active attorney license
is a fluent Spanish speaker and writer
is comfortable in a project-based, departmental role
has experience interacting with clients on a regular basis
can handle the demands of a fast-paced environment
is meticulous in accurately recording data
is a strong communicator and an active listener
is proactive in providing regular status updates and reports to the team
is detail oriented

This is a direct-hire, full-time position. We offer a benefits package, including medical, dental, vision, life, short term disability, accident, critical illness, and hospital indemnity insurance, as well as 14 paid holidays, up to 20 PTO days, and 401(k) with match. We also offer a company-issued laptop and monthly stipends for hybrid work.
