Micro Advantage Inc. is an Ohio-based managed IT services and web development firm serving business clients across the state. We are seeking an experienced Full Stack Developer to join our internal development team.
The successful candidate will contribute to a diverse project portfolio ranging from short-duration client engagements to multi-year platform development initiatives. This position requires an individual capable of independent project ownership as well as effective collaboration within a distributed team.
Candidate location within Ohio is required; specific cities are flexible.
## Responsibilities
- Design, develop, and maintain web applications using PHP and Python
- Execute short-turnaround client requests including integration repairs, workflow development, and performance remediation
- Contribute to long-term platform development projects with multi-year maintenance horizons
- Integrate third-party APIs, payment processing systems, and internal business tooling
- Participate in requirements gathering and technical consultation with clients, both remotely and on site
- Assess and modernize legacy codebases while maintaining production stability
- Evaluate and recommend new technologies where they provide measurable benefit to client outcomes
- Produce documented, maintainable code and participate in peer code review
## Required Qualifications
- Demonstrated professional experience developing production applications in PHP and Python
- Proficiency in front-end fundamentals including HTML, CSS, and JavaScript, with working experience in at least one modern JavaScript framework
- Competency in SQL and relational database design, including query performance analysis and optimization including both Postgres and Mysql.
- Proficiency in Python frameworks, Flask and Django.
- Proven ability to scope, plan, and deliver projects independently with limited supervision
- Demonstrated effectiveness as a collaborative team contributor, including code review participation and knowledge sharing
- Professional written and verbal communication skills sufficient for direct client interaction
- Ohio residency and reliable transportation; periodic travel to client sites and team meetings is required
## Preferred Qualifications
- Linux server administration and application deployment experience
- Proficiency with Git-based version control and CI/CD workflows
- Experience with content management platforms in production environments
- Familiarity with cloud and CDN platforms including Cloudflare, AWS, or Azure
- Experience maintaining legacy technology stacks, including Classic ASP and IIS environments
- Working knowledge of WCAG accessibility standards and technical SEO principles
- Familiarity with AI and large language model tooling in applied business contexts
- Prior experience in an agency, MSP, or professional services environment
## Work Environment
This is a remote-first position. Employees work primarily from a home office, with periodic travel to client locations and team meetings across Northeast and Central Ohio.
## Compensation and Benefits
- $50,000 - $85,000 annually, commensurate with experience
