Web Development & E-Commerce Manager
Location: Hackensack, NJ — On-site
Schedule: Part-time or Full-time
Compensation: Based on experience, with profit-sharing available for qualified candidates
We are seeking an experienced, hands-on Web Development & E-Commerce Manager to help grow and optimize the online retail operations of a fast-paced silkscreen printing, embroidery, and Digital Transfer Print company.
This role blends website development, Shopify and e-commerce management, API integrations, digital marketing, and print-industry knowledge. The ideal candidate understands how to create a smooth online ordering experience—from product setup and dropshipping workflows to production-ready artwork, fulfillment integrations, analytics, and customer acquisition.
Responsibilities
- Maintain, improve, and update the company website, Shopify store, and other online sales platforms.
- Perform front-end web development, including HTML, CSS, responsive layouts, landing pages, product pages, content updates, and user-experience improvements.
- Manage Shopify products, collections, pricing, inventory, customer-facing information, shipping settings, apps, and store functionality.
- Build and maintain API integrations between Shopify and third-party platforms, services, suppliers, fulfillment systems, marketplaces, and internal business tools.
- Develop and manage dropshipping workflows, including supplier connections, automated order routing, product synchronization, inventory updates, and customer-order tracking.
- Monitor website traffic, conversion rates, online sales, average order value, customer behavior, and campaign performance.
- Identify and implement improvements that increase sales, reduce friction during checkout, and improve the online customer experience.
- Work closely with design, production, sales, and marketing teams to ensure products, artwork, branding, and promotions are accurately represented online.
- Support digital marketing efforts, including email campaigns, social-media marketing, SEO, paid advertising coordination, and AI-assisted marketing tools.
- Create or update visual assets using Adobe Creative Suite for website, product, marketing, and promotional use.
- Maintain website security, backups, updates, integrations, and general performance.
- Help develop online ordering systems for custom apparel, screen printing, embroidery, and digital transfer print products.
Required Qualifications
- At least 5 years of experience in web development, website management, e-commerce, or a related digital-retail role.
- Strong knowledge of Shopify, WordPress, and other CMS or e-commerce platforms.
- Proficiency in HTML and CSS; working knowledge of front-end development and website troubleshooting.
- Extensive experience with API integrations and third-party applications.
- Strong understanding of dropshipping, including supplier integrations, product feeds, fulfillment processes, inventory synchronization, and order automation.
- Experience managing and optimizing online retail platforms.
- Ability to analyze website traffic, sales data, conversion performance, and digital marketing results.
- Proficiency in Adobe Creative Suite, including Photoshop and Illustrator.
- Strong organizational skills and the ability to manage multiple priorities in a production-oriented environment.
- Excellent communication skills and comfort collaborating with creative, marketing, production, and management teams.
- Ability to work on-site in Hackensack, New Jersey.
Preferred Qualifications
- Experience working for a silkscreen printing, embroidery, apparel-decoration, promotional-products, or Digital Transfer Print company.
- Knowledge of print production workflows, garment decoration, artwork preparation, color theory, and print processes.
- Familiarity with Printavo, DecoNetwork, ShopWorx, or similar print-industry management software.
- Experience creating accurate color separations for screen printing or other production methods.
- Knowledge of digital marketing, SEO, paid social advertising, Google Analytics, email marketing, and social-media strategy.
- Experience using AI tools for content creation, campaign development, product descriptions, marketing automation, customer-service workflows, or business analytics.
- Bachelor’s degree in graphic design, web development, marketing, computer science, or a related field preferred.
Ideal Candidate
The ideal candidate is both technical and commercially minded. You can build and maintain websites, troubleshoot Shopify issues, connect systems through APIs, and improve an online store’s performance—but you also understand how those improvements translate into real orders, production efficiency, and customer satisfaction.
You should be comfortable in a print-production environment and understand the difference between selling a standard retail product and selling custom decorated apparel, custom transfers, embroidery, and production services.
