Position Description:
CGI is seeking an experienced QA Automation Engineer to support enterprise mortgage technology applications within a highly regulated financial services environment. This role will focus on automated and manual testing of applications supporting mortgage loan origination, closing, acquisition, and Uniform Closing Disclosure (UCD) processes.
We partner with 15 of the top 20 banks globally, and our top 10 banking clients have worked with us for an average of 26 years!.
This role is located at a client site in either Lafayette, LA, Knoxville, TN, Birmingham, AL, or Columbia, SC. A hybrid working model is acceptable.
Your future duties and responsibilities:
CGI is seeking an experienced QA Automation Engineer to support enterprise mortgage technology applications within a highly regulated financial services environment. This role will focus on automated and manual testing of applications supporting mortgage loan origination, closing, acquisition, and Uniform Closing Disclosure (UCD) processes.
The successful candidate will work closely with product owners, business analysts, developers, and quality engineering teams to validate business functionality and deliver reliable software solutions. The position requires strong hands on test automation experience, API and database testing skills, and the ability to understand complex mortgage workflows and data.
Key responsibilities include:
. Develop, execute, and maintain automated and manual test cases covering functional, integration, regression, system, and end to end testing.
. Build and enhance test automation using Selenium, Playwright, and BDD/Gherkin practices.
. Perform API testing and backend validation for enterprise applications and services.
. Validate mortgage transactions and data exchanges using XML and MISMO based data structures.
. Perform database and backend validation using SQL and Oracle.
. Support testing for mortgage loan origination, loan closing, loan acquisition, and Uniform Closing Disclosure (UCD) processes.
. Review business and technical requirements and translate them into effective test scenarios and automation coverage.
. Investigate defects, perform root cause analysis, document findings, and partner with development teams through resolution.
. Maintain test evidence, defect documentation, and quality metrics.
. Participate in Agile/Scrum ceremonies, including sprint planning, backlog refinement, daily standups, reviews, and retrospectives.
. Use GitLab, Git, Jira, and CI/CD pipelines to support automated testing and software delivery.
. Support applications operating in AWS based enterprise environments and work effectively within cloud enabled development and testing processes.
. Use AI assisted development and testing tools where appropriate to improve test analysis, automation, and productivity.
. Contribute to continuous improvement of automation coverage, testing practices, and overall software quality.
Required qualifications to be successful in this role:
. 5+ years of hands on software quality assurance and testing experience.
. Strong experience with test automation, particularly Selenium and/or Playwright.
. Experience with BDD/Gherkin and automated regression testing.
. Hands on experience with API, functional, integration, regression, and end to end testing.
. Strong SQL skills and experience validating backend data, preferably with Oracle.
. Experience creating, modifying, and validating XML.
. Working knowledge of Java and/or Python for test automation.
. Experience with Git, GitLab, Jira, and CI/CD pipelines.
. Experience testing enterprise web applications, APIs, and backend services.
. Familiarity with applications deployed or operated in AWS/cloud environments.
. Strong understanding of SDLC, STLC, Agile, and Scrum practices.
. Mortgage industry experience, ideally involving loan origination, loan closing, loan acquisition, or secondary mortgage market processes.
. Experience with UCD (Uniform Closing Disclosure) is strongly preferred.
. Knowledge of MISMO mortgage data standards is highly desirable.
. Ability to understand business requirements and turn them into practical test scenarios and automation coverage.
. Strong troubleshooting, analytical, communication, and cross functional collaboration skills.
Education:
Bachelor's degree in Computer Science, Information Technology, Engineering, or a related technical discipline, or equivalent relevant professional experience.

The determination of this range includes various factors not limited to skill set, level, experience, relevant training, and licensure and certifications. To support the ability to reward for merit based performance, CGI typically does not hire individuals at or near the top of the range for their role. Compensation decisions are dependent on the facts and circumstances of each case. A reasonable estimate of the current range for this role in the U.S. is $86,500.00 $139,300.00.
