Full Stack Software Engineer – ERP Systems Job Summary
Southern California Precision Machining (SCPM) is seeking a skilled Full Stack Software Engineer to develop, improve, and support our internal ERP software and related manufacturing applications.
This role will work across the entire application stack, including user interfaces, back-end services, databases, APIs, and system integrations. The ideal candidate can understand complex business processes, translate operational needs into reliable software, and troubleshoot issues that affect day-to-day production.
You will work directly with operations, production, quality, inventory, accounting, and management teams to build practical solutions that improve efficiency, data accuracy, traceability, and visibility throughout the company.
Key Responsibilities
- Develop, maintain, and improve SCPM’s ERP system and related web and locally hosted applications.
- Design responsive, user-friendly interfaces using modern JavaScript frameworks such as React or Angular.
- Develop and maintain back-end services using technologies such as Python, Java, Ruby on Rails, C#, C++, or a comparable server-side language.
- Create and maintain RESTful APIs and integrations between ERP modules, manufacturing systems, and third-party platforms.
- Design, query, and optimize relational databases such as Microsoft SQL Server or MySQL.
- Translate operational requirements into technical specifications and functional software solutions.
- Support workflows involving production scheduling, inventory, purchasing, work orders, inspection, employee tracking, shipping, and reporting.
- Troubleshoot software defects, data issues, performance problems, and application outages.
- Improve system reliability, security, scalability, and performance.
- Implement user permissions and Role-Based Access Control based on departmental responsibilities.
- Write clean, maintainable, and well-documented code.
- Use Git or another version-control system to manage source code and releases.
- Develop automated testing, deployment, backup, and recovery processes.
- Maintain existing software while gradually modernizing legacy components.
- Work with employees and department leaders to test features, gather feedback, and provide technical support.
- Protect confidential company, customer, employee, and manufacturing data.
Qualifications
- Proven professional experience in full stack software development.
- Experience developing and maintaining business-critical applications or ERP systems.
- Strong knowledge of front-end development using JavaScript, TypeScript, React, Angular, or a similar framework.
- Proficiency in at least one back-end programming language or framework.
- Strong SQL skills and experience with relational database design, stored procedures, queries, and performance optimization.
- Experience developing and integrating RESTful APIs.
- Understanding of authentication, authorization, Role-Based Access Control, and secure software-development practices.
- Experience using Git, GitHub, SVN, or a comparable version-control platform.
- Ability to diagnose application, database, network, and data-related problems.
- Ability to understand complex business processes and convert them into effective technical solutions.
- Strong communication, documentation, and organizational skills.
- Ability to work independently, manage priorities, and take ownership of projects from planning through implementation.
Preferred Qualifications
- Experience developing or supporting ERP, manufacturing, inventory, scheduling, accounting, or quality-management software.
- Experience working in a CNC machining or manufacturing environment.
- Knowledge of production travelers, bills of materials, routings, work centers, inspection records, job costing, purchasing, and inventory control.
- Experience maintaining or modernizing legacy applications.
- Experience with cloud or hybrid infrastructure, including AWS or Microsoft Azure.
- Familiarity with automated testing and CI/CD pipelines.
- Experience with reporting, dashboards, and business-intelligence tools.
- Bachelor’s degree in computer science, software engineering, information systems, or a related field, or equivalent professional experience.

Pay: From $50,000.00 per year
