Full Job Description

Summary

We are seeking a technically strong Application Engineer to support, troubleshooting, and deploy our software platforms integrated with mechanical and electronic systems. This role combines hands-on technical work with customer-facing responsibilities and close collaboration with engineering teams.

Key Responsibilities

Develop deep knowledge of the product line and its integrated hardware/software ecosystem, including embedded controllers, sensorsand networked applications
Provision, configure, deploy, test, and provide ongoing support for software, hardware and networked applications, interpret schematics, block diagrams and wiring drawings
Guide and support customers through hardware installation, commissioning, and start-up: wiring and cabling, power-up checks, firmware loading, and end-to-end system verification
Perform system level troubleshooting; diagnose issues across the full stack and isolate root cause between hardware, firmware, network, and application software, escalating confirmed hardware defects to Engineering with clear supporting evidence
Deliver product demonstrations, training, and technical support to customers on both the hardware and software portions of the system
Act as the primary communication bridge between sales, customers, and internal engineering teams, translate customer requirements into actionable feedback for Product Management, Hardware/Firmware Engineering, and Software R&D
Document field findings, failure analysis, test results, and application notes for internal and customer use
Translate customer requirements into actionable feedback for Product Management and R&D Engineering
Provide input on product enhancements and process improvements
Respond to functional and technical portions of RFIs/RFPs
Travel within the sales territory to perform system start-up, integration, and training
Maintain client confidentiality and perform other duties as assigned

Qualifications

Bachelor's degree in Electrical Engineering or Computer Engineering (or a closely related engineering field)
Demonstrated hands-on experience with both hardware and software — this role is not software-only or hardware-only
Ability to read and interpret schematics, wiring diagrams, and datasheets, and to work comfortably with digital components and basic analog circuitry
Experience with Windows and Linux system installation, configuration, and troubleshooting
Willingness and ability to travel within the sales territory for on-site installation, integration, and training

Desired Skills and Experience

Preferred: Minimum 2 years of relevant experience in an application, field, systems, or test engineering role supporting hardware/software products
Familiarity with embedded interfaces and industrial protocols such as UART, SPI, USB, RS-232/RS-485, or Ethernet/IP
Experience with microcontroller or SBC platforms (e.g., ARM Cortex-M, Raspberry Pi, industrial PCs) and with flashing/updating firmware in the field
Working knowledge of Java, React, and/or Python is highly desirable; scripting for test automation and data collection is a plus. Familiarity with SQL queries and general networking troubleshooting (IP addressing, VLANs, firewalls, Wireshark)
Excellent verbal and written communication skills — able to present clearly, conduct meetings, and write technical documents. Strong interpersonal skills with the ability to communicate effectively with both customers and engineers
Analytical, problem-solving, and results-driven mindset
Highly organized with the ability to multi-task and meet deadlines
Detail-oriented, proactive, and positive team player
Understanding of schematics, digital components, and basic analog circuitry preferred
Preferred: Ability to speak Chinese (Mandarin)

Pay: $70,000.00 - $75,000.00 per year
