Job Summary:
We are seeking a results-oriented and client-focused Event Sales Director to drive revenue by selling and coordinating events and catering services. This role is responsible for generating new business, managing existing client relationships, and ensuring seamless execution of all booked events. The ideal candidate is a strategic thinker with strong sales acumen, hospitality knowledge, and exceptional communication skills.
Key Responsibilities:
Sales & Business Development:
- Generate leads and build a pipeline through outbound sales, networking, and referrals
- Respond to event and catering inquiries in a timely and professional manner.
- Conduct site tours and presentations for prospective clients.
- Create and deliver customized proposals, menus, and pricing packages.
- Negotiate contracts and close sales to meet or exceed revenue goals.
Client Relationship Management:
- Serve as the main point of contact for clients from inquiry through the planning stages and handoff to operations.
- Develop strong, ongoing relationships to encourage repeat business and referrals.
- Coordinate tastings, walkthroughs, and pre-event meetings as needed.
- Provide high-level customer service to ensure client satisfaction.
Event Planning Support:
- Work closely with internal teams (kitchen, operations) to ensure accurate event execution.
- Prepare Banquet Event Orders (BEOs), event timelines, and function sheets.
- Ensure all client expectations, dietary needs, and service requirements are clearly communicated and fulfilled.
Reporting & Administration:
- Maintain accurate records in the CRM or sales/event software system.
- Track sales activity, bookings, revenue goals, and client feedback.
- Provide regular sales reports and forecasts to management and GM
- Stay updated on industry trends, competitor offerings, and market conditions.
Qualifications:
- Bachelor's degree in Hospitality, Business, Marketing, or related field (preferred).
- 3–5+ years of experience in event and/or catering sales, preferably in a hotel, venue, or catering company.
- Strong sales skills with a proven track record of meeting or exceeding revenue goals.
- Excellent organizational, communication, and negotiation abilities.
- Proficiency with sales and event software (e.g., Delphi, Tripleseat, Caterease, Salesforce).
- Knowledge of catering operations, event planning, and banquet service standards.
- Ability to work flexible hours, including evenings and weekends, based on client and event needs.
Preferred Qualifications:
- Existing client network in corporate, social, or wedding markets.
- Familiarity with food & beverage trends, dietary requirements, and menu design.
- Event or catering certifications (e.g., CMP, CPCE) are a plus.
Work Environment:
- Office and on-site event locations
- Regular site visits, client meetings, and occasional travel to events
- Fast-paced, deadline-driven environment with occasional physical demands (event setup support, lifting materials)
Job Type: Full-time
Pay: $85,000.00 - $95,000.00 per year
